These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website newspoint.life and related services operated by NewsPoint Media Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202547902K) ("NewsPoint", "we", "us"). By accessing the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
1. About NewsPoint and brand meaning
NewsPoint is an independent digital news portal publishing original news, analysis and explainers for Singapore and APAC readers. The domain suffix .life is branding only. It does not indicate that NewsPoint is a lifestyle-coaching, wellness or self-help service.
The word "Point" refers to getting to the point of a story — clarity and editorial precision. NewsPoint is not a loyalty-points or rewards programme, a map or location "point" service, or a retail point-of-sale product. We do not sell publication of news articles to third parties.
2. Eligibility and acceptable use
You must use the site lawfully and in a manner that does not infringe others' rights or disrupt our operations. You agree not to:
- Scrape or harvest content at scale without written permission;
- Attempt unauthorised access to servers, forms or editorial systems;
- Upload malware, spam or abusive material through contact channels;
- Misrepresent affiliation with NewsPoint or impersonate our staff;
- Use our content to imply endorsement of products we have not labelled as sponsored;
- Harass staff or sources through repeated contact after a request to stop.
We may suspend access for conduct that threatens security, staff safety or editorial integrity.

Articles may be labelled as news, analysis, opinion, comment or sponsored content. Opinion and comment reflect the named authors' views, not necessarily the company's. NewsPoint aims to report accurately and correct significant errors promptly.

We aim to report accurately, fairly and independently; to distinguish clearly between news, analysis, opinion and any sponsored content; and to correct significant errors promptly. Opinion and comment reflect the authors' own views. Reporting reflects the information available at the time of publication and may be updated as a story develops.
4. No professional advice
All content is provided for general information and education. Nothing on newspoint.life constitutes financial, legal, medical, tax or investment advice. You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on news or explainers. We are not responsible for actions you take based on site content.
5. No paid-for news articles
Advertising, membership and partnership fees do not purchase favourable coverage or guaranteed publication. Sponsored or native content is clearly labelled. If you believe content is improperly labelled, contact [email protected].
6. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, NewsPoint Media Pte. Ltd. owns or licenses the copyright in text, layout, design elements, trademarks (including "NewsPoint"), logos, and original photography on the site. You may:
- View and share reasonable excerpts with attribution and a link to the original URL;
- Quote brief passages for fair comment, criticism or reporting under applicable law.
You may not republish full articles, sell our content, or remove bylines and copyright notices without permission. Third-party trademarks remain the property of their owners.
7. User submissions
When you submit tips, comments or forms, you represent that your material is lawful and does not violate third-party rights. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to use submissions for editorial evaluation, response and internal record-keeping. Confidentiality requests are considered under our editorial policies but cannot override legal compulsion.
8. Corrections policy
Material factual errors are corrected on the relevant page with a dated note where appropriate. Request corrections via the contact form with the article URL and specifics. We do not grant automatic takedowns of lawful reporting solely because a subject dislikes coverage; we assess legal and ethical factors case by case.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections.

We may revise these Terms. The "Last updated" date will change when revisions are posted. Material changes may be highlighted on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
17. Community standards (future features)
If NewsPoint introduces reader comments, newsletters with reply-to-all features, or community forums, participants must not post unlawful, harassing, defamatory or infringing material. We may remove content and suspend access for repeat violations. These Terms apply to any such features when launched.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. The invalid provision shall be replaced with a valid term that most closely reflects the original intent permitted by law.
19. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and NewsPoint regarding use of the public website, superseding prior oral or written understandings on that subject.
